3rd World Symposium on Sustainability Science and Research
The call for papers for the “3rd World Symposium on Sustainability Science and Research” is now open. This even follows the 1st and 2nd World Symposium on Sustainability Science and Research, held in the UK and in Brazil respectively. The “3rd World Symposium on Sustainability Science and Research” will be held on Thursday, 8th April 2021, as an on-line and all-day event, with parallel sessions.
The Symposium is organised by the the European School of Sustainability Science and Research (ESSSR) (www.esssr.eu and the International Sustainable Development Research Programme (IUSDRP; https://www.haw-hamburg.de/ftz-nk/programme/iusdrp.html) in cooperation with the University of A Coruña (Spain) and other organisations. Under the theme “Sustainability Futures: Challenges and Opportunities Towards a More Sustainable World“, the “3rd World Symposium on Sustainability Science and Research” aims to identify, document and disseminate ideas, experiences and visions from educators, scientists, members of non-governmental organisations, decision-makers, industry representatives and citizens, on themes and issues which will be important in pursuing sustainable future scenarios.
Participation at the 3rd World Symposium on Sustainability Science and Research will be granted to selected researchers. Expressions of interest to contribute to the event, initially consisting of a 200 words abstract, with all contact details of the authors, should be sent to: iusdrp( at )ls.haw-hamburg.de.
The deadlines are as follows: – Deadline for the submission of abstracts: 20th January 2021 – Deadline for registrations, allocation of presentation slots: 20th March 2021 – Deadline for the submission of full papers: 10th May 2021
As an output and long-term documentation of the event, selected papers will be published in the “Encyclopedia of Sustainability Futures”, which will follow on the success of the “Encyclopedia of Sustainability in Higher Education” (https://link.springer.com/referencework/10.1007/978-3-319-63951-2) which is a “living edition” and the “Encyclopedia of the UN Sustainable Development Goals” (https://www.springer.com/series/15893), the world´s largest editorial project on sustainable development ever undertaken. The “Encyclopedia of Sustainability Futures” will focus on education and scientific aspects, as well as on social and economic ones, also considering matters related to financing and infra-structures, which are important in pursuing a sustainable future. It will be part of the world´s leading peer-reviewed book series on matters related to sustainable development: https://www.springer.com/series/13384. This will be a high-impact, high citations piece. The peer-reviewed nature of the publication means that it officially counts as a publication output for promotion and tenure purposes.
