The ESSSR network has been acknowledged as European Sustainability Network, according to a rcent study by the European University Association (EUA).
Respondents to EUA’s survey on greening in European higher education institutions mentioned a total of 83
networks that they participate in, either dedicated to environmental sustainability in general, or to some fairly
specific thematic issues such as green energy, water management practices, etc. Most of these are not specific
to higher education but have a broad membership. However, 35 networks -among them ESSSR – focus on the contribution of the higher education sector to fostering environmental sustainability, targeting higher education institutions, but also often involve other actors. Find the full study report here.
